have close ties to Amigos de Chocolá.
Formerly known as the Chocolá Sustainability
Task Force, Amigos de Chocolá is a
non-profit secular organization committed
to promoting sustainable economic
and social development in the town
of Chocolá, Guatemala, helping to
reduce poverty and improve the lives
of the people of Chocolá and surrounding
regions.
Amigos is incorporated as a 501c(3)

endorsed and filed in the Office of
the Secretary of State of California

Amigos de Chocolá believes in a holistic
approach to development—reducing poverty
and hopelessness in a developing community
through strengthening the economic,
infrastructural, educational, health
and social quality of the community
together, in a way that respects the
integrity, self-determination and
aspirations of the community itself.
Amigos de Chocolá neither represents
nor espouses a particular political
theory, religious orientation or commercial
interest. The work will always seek
improvements that uplift the present
and preserve the distinctive historical,
social and cultural identity of the
people of Chocolá, Guatemala. Amigos
de Chocolá acts with integrity and
respect in all transactions, work
and interactions within the organization,
our communities and our world.
Amigos de Chocolá is managed by a
board of directors composed of individuals
from various walks of life, all of
whom have been touched by the people
of this small Guatemalan town. Currently,
we are operating out of two U.S. locations:
